Description
woot! first digital commission. This is a portrait of a online friend. This portrait is not an accurate depiction of his physical appearance, but how I perceived him from talking to him online (with out seeing a photo of him). I think this is more successful because the figure has motion and is not stagnate like in "witch". I started with a basic figure, but was compelled to add some fanciful element. On a whim he became the moth king. I added the tree for compositional reasons, but I made the branches a bit more fluid to add to the whimsical aspect of this. I also thought that the tree could potentially add to the subject matter, depending on how he interpreted it.+Photoshop+

I think the rendering could use a bit more refinement. Your highlights feel a bit dull to me.
I like the idea with the tree, but would like to see more care taken with the grass as well.
